Species Description
Widespread but infrequent throughout the UK. Habitat includes: around herbivorous animals e.g. farmland, pastures, allotments, gardens, woodland, hedgerows etc. but is also attracted to lights and is often found in Urban areas, so it can be found almost anywhere. Flight period Year round (peaks April to October) Length: 8 mm. Life story: feeds on herbivorous dung. Looks very similar to Aphodius pedellus.
